The Through Fire single “Stronger” is one of those records from an emerging new artist that sometimes gets lost in the shuffle of core artists’ releases to the Active Rock format. The track has been on the Active Rock chart for 22 weeks and has been a top ten best selling single at the format for the last 6 of those weeks. Sales this week top 1600. Those who are playing the record are driving the sales along with great word of mouth from their live performances and the band had a great reception at the Chicago Open Air Festival. They will be playing a show for WJJO at the Dane County Fair on July 22. New supporting stations are KXXR Minneapolis, WZOR Appleton Wisconsin, and KDOT Reno. The band will begin touring with Nonpoint on July 30, then join Sick Puppies on September 18. KLAQ’s Kevin Vargas had the band to the station for an acoustic lunch and was so impressed that he asked them to play a station function three days later; the official station add followed. Something is cooking here and it’s time to revisit the single in your meeting this week. Enjoy our Artist Profile of the band. – Robert England
Never give up… Never give in… those words are the foundation of which Through Fire was born. This four piece hard rock band hailing from Omaha, Nebraska quickly caught the attention of several industry executive’s and they’ve recently inked a deal with Sumerian Records. With anthems such as “Stronger” and “Breathe”, Through Fire is here to make their mark in the rock world.
Comprised of lead singer Grant Kendrick, guitarist Justin McCain, drummer Patrick Mussack and bassist Jesse Saint, the bands live show is sure to rally fans throughout the world. Impacting radio along with their video premier for “Stronger” in January 2016, Through Fire set out on the road with Adelitas Way and Failure Anthem for their first tour.
Following up that successful run and introducing the band to the masses, they went out for 7 weeks with industry veterans OTEP and supported a very strong first showing at Active Rock radio across the country.
June 2016 proved to be a solid month with the band reaching #28 on the Mediabase Active Rock charts and powerhouse Octane coming on board to get behind the track. In less than 3 weeks “Stronger” made its way to the #1 most played song on the station and is closing in on the same position for the Big Uns Countdown. With impressive digital sales to match and hitting the top 10 in single downloads for the week, the band garnered the attention of NBC Sports and found song placements with “Stronger”on mixed martial arts matches and The Stanley Cup Finals.
July 1, their debut record “Breathe” drops nationwide. The band then finds themselves playing a Danny Wimmer mega fest, “Chicago Open Air” on July 17 in Chicago followed by a WJJO radio show in Madison Wisconsin. Soon after, the band will be hitting the road with Nonpoint for a short stint and then solidifying a late summer / fall tour.
With radio and touring looking very promising throughout the remainder of the year, Through Fire looks to solidify a permanent spot amongst the industry’s elite acts. Never give up… Never give in… They are just scratching the surface of what’s to come!
